GPDP Facilitator Report 2.16

Gram Panchayats have been given the responsibility to prepare the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) in order to promote economic development and social justice using the available resources. This planning process should be comprehensive and participatory, involving the collaboration of all relevant Central Ministries and Line Departments associated with the 29 subjects listed in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution. Panchayats play a crucial role in effectively implementing flagship schemes that are of national importance and contribute to the transformation of rural India.

The People's Plan Campaign will take place from October 2nd to December 31st, 2018, with the aim of preparing the GPDP for the year 2019-20. This campaign, initiated under the "Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas" (Everyone's Plan, Everyone's Development) motto, will involve a thorough and structured planning exercise at the Gram Sabha level, through collaboration between Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and relevant Line Departments of the State.
